I went to a lecture on the healing power of traditional Finnish lament songs and was truly touched by the honesty and feeling in this fast disappearing art. When I returned home, I wrote my own lament to my grandfather who passed away in 2007 and was a big influence in my life. The song is in Finnish, but I think the feeling comes across in the voice even if you can't understand the lyrics.
